Thrift Report: A Little Bit Exotic

Hi friends!  Just a few finds this week that I wanted to share. It was too beautiful this weekend - breezy, sunny and cool - to spend TOO much time in the thrift shops!

First of all, I'm kind of obsessed with this pair of serpent candlesticks that I bought at a local antique mall:

Aren't they so cool and glam? And perfect for this creepy crawly Halloween season.

I also picked up this big ol' ginger jar for $1.99 at a local Goodwill:

Right now, I'm planning to keep it and use it in my new living room. The colors are just perfect!

This vase is a bit of a mystery to me:

It's clearly old, and handmade. It's red clay underneath the glaze. I thought it was a Mexican piece, but the signature on the base appears to be Arabic. More research is in order, but for now it's pretty sitting on my bookshelf!

And finally, you know I can't resist a good Blanc de Chine statue...or two. :)

I pick up these two beauties at that same antique mall for a song. I love (of course!) the gold detailing, which makes them special.

How did you fare this weekend? Any special vintage finds?

    1. I will do that - thanks! Now that you mention it, North African sounds right to me, too. I wonder how on earth it ended up in a thrift store in Indiana. :)

  21. The snake-y candlesticks are crazy! That mystery vase, the design reminds me of Holland blue Delft patterns but the shade of blue isn't right...weird, but very pretty. Thanks for linking up to We Call It Olde - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
