Honestly, sometimes I don't know what to do with myself...
So many of my fellow vintage bloggers have declared thrifting hiatuses lately that I felt inspired to do the same. I certainly need to; I'm overrun with unlisted inventory for the shop and I've made several big "project" purchases lately for myself that I haven't tackled yet. Plus I've been so busy lately that there just hasn't been time to peruse the thrifts in that careful, leisurely way that I prefer. And it's no fun to thrift in a hurry, right?
I met my parents for lunch on Sunday in a nearby suburb. On my way home, I passed right by a thrift store that I don't get to very often. What the heck, I thought...I'll just run in and out. I'll only buy something if it's absolutely fabulous. I won't even get a cart!
You know how this ends, right?
Fifty bucks and a full car later, here's what I brought home:
That's right....two ice buckets; a milk glass plate; a cocktail set carrier; some square-based cocktail glasses; five candlesticks; two lamps; a Chinoiserie statue, and a humongous tray.
The two lamps and the statue are definitely my faves!
At least I didn't bring home the 30 pound faux bamboo mirror, the 1970s wine rack, or the rattan ottoman. I do have some restraint, I guess. Barely.
Did you do any thrifting this week? Can't wait to see!
